Another week of the Women's Baltic Basketball League went by with four games taking place.
The game week began on Wednesday in Lithuania, where Aistes Kaunas (12-5) comfortably 91-63 (24-13, 29-18, 16-17, 22-15) defeated LCC Klaipeda (7-9).
The hosts had an efficient shooting night from the 2-point zone, making 23 of 35 shots (66%). Tyra Marie Buss led the way for Aistes, who finished the game with 29 points (7/9 2PT, 3/6 3PT, 6/7 FT), 1 rebound, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover, and 36 EFF.
Lina Loceniece was the brightest for Klaipeda, as she accumulated 21 points (4/5 2PT, 4/11 3PT, 1/1 FT), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, and 15 EFF in 26 minutes.
On the same day, Liepaja/LSSS (9-8) hosted BJBS Riga (1-12), capturing a convincing 64-40 (14-9, 16-18, 19-6, 15-7) victory.
It was the first win of the week for Liepaja's team, as Raivita Korenikaka made the biggest impact. She finished the game with 17 points (5/11 2PT, 7/8 FT), 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, 3 turnovers, and 30 EFF.
Franciska Treiliha led the way for Riga with 11 points (5/9 2PT, 0/3 3PT, 1/2 FT), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 1 turnover, and 7 PIR.
Unfortunately for Riga, all of their 20 attempts from the 3-point zone went off the mark.
The second win for Liepaja/LSSS came on Sunday after beating Daugavpils University (1-13) 76-62 (19-11, 12-22, 23-15, 22-14).
This time, Korenikaka put up an even more impressive performance with 28 points (5/9 2PT, 4/5 3PT, 6/8 FT), 17 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 46 PIR.
Throughout this week, the 21-year-old forward averaged 22.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 4.0 steals, and 38.0 EFF.
For Daugavpils, Viktoriya Babych accumulated 16 points (5/11 2PT, 1/6 3PT, 3/5 FT), 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, 4 blocks, 4 turnovers, and 26 EFF.
It was a winless week for Daugavpils as before the matchup with Liepaja, they suffered a 55-81 (15-15, 13-29, 13-12, 14-25) loss against the leaders Riga Stradina University (13-0).
Once again, Babych was the most noticeable in the Daugavpils team, as she finished the game with 15 points (5/12 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 2/3 FT), 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers, and 23 EFF.
Meanwhile, Luize Septe led the way for Riga with her 13 points (6/8 2PT, 0/2 3PT, 1/1 FT), 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 turnovers, and 22 EFF performance.
After last week's action, Aistes Kaunas (12-5) remains on top, but Riga Stradina University (13-0) is the only team without a loss this season and has four games in hand against the Lithuanian team.
Kibirkstis Vilnius (12-2), Neptunas Klaipeda (11-4), and Liepaja/LSSS (9-8) close the top five, while Audente Tallinn (0-13) sits at the back, being the only team without a win this season.
