The first week of 2024 saw four games played, with four winners being the defending champions TTT-Riga (10-0), LCC International University (11-2), Siauliai-Vilmers (8-5), and Aistes-LSMU (7-5).
Aistes-LSMU was the only team to play two games. The Kaunas team first defeated Jurmala 66-47 at home.
Karolina Kazociunaite was unstoppable for the winners. The forward scored 23 points (2/2 two-pointers, 5/7 three-pointers, 4/4 free throws), grabbed 9 rebounds, blocked 3 shots, and collected 33 efficiency points.
The Latvian team was led by Nikola Ozola with 24 points, but her efforts were not enough for the win.
The second game of the week did not go as well for the Kaunas team. Aistes-LSMU lost to Siauliai-Vilmers 58-84 on the road.
This game was close until the middle of the fourth quarter when the teams were separated by just 5 points (60-55). In the remaining time, the Siauliai team went on a 24-3 run to win the game 84-58.
Once again, Cassidy Mihalko was unstoppable for the Siauliai team. The American scored 28 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 5 assists, stole 5 balls, and collected 35 efficiency points.
Mercy Wanyama contributed a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to the victory.
In the central game of the first week of the 2024 season, Neptunas-Amberton and LCC International University met in a Klaipeda derby. The game was close throughout, but LCC International University came out on top 71-65 thanks to a strong second half.
Gerda Raulusaityte (19 points) and Elizabete Bulane (17 points and 10 rebounds) led the way for the winners.
Viktoria Balaban (19), Maria Delgado (16), and league's December MVP Marina Solopova (14) were the top scorers for Neptunas-Amberton.
Neptunas-Amberton, despite the loss, had something to be happy about. Audrone Zdaneviciute, who had recovered from a serious injury, finally took to the court. The point guard played 16 minutes, scoring 2 points.
In the fourth game of the week, TTT-Riga beat the much younger TTT Juniores 121-35.
